1. Academic results: we consistently have the highest OP scores in the city – despite our small numbers. Remember that the greatest difference for students is probably at the second and third quartiles. That is, the students who benefit most from the supportive atmosphere and passionate teaching at TAS are not the best students but those further down the line. These students finish high school with many more options for life after high school.
2. TAS’s greatest resource is our dedicated and committed Staff whose focus on helping each individual student achieve their personal best is unequalled. The School’s excellent reputation means that we are in the fortunate position of attracting the best teachers available from Cairns, all over Australia and overseas.

The small size of the school makes it possible for students to share fully in the community of the school.
4. TAS has a Music program second to none in the city. Because we are a smaller school, many more students enjoy the chance to participate in ensemble playing and performance.
5. The TAS Aquatic program is the best in North Queensland and as good as any in the State. It is now attracting international swimmers to the school.
6. Our Outdoor Education program is the best in the State with an integrated program from Year 2 through to Year 12.
7. Our International programs through Round Square and our Sister Schools offer students experiences unavailable at other schools.
8. Our Early Childhood Education was pioneered seventeen years ago and offers outstanding opportunities to children. In new, beautiful facilities, our program and staff are recognized as leaders in the area.
9. Our Lap Top program offers students from Year 5 a fluency with technology that no other students in the city enjoy.
10. Our building program will give us new facilities and classrooms at Marlin Coast in January 2007; the next stage of the building program in White Rock Senior begins next year.
11. TAS has outstanding articulation with university opportunities. TAS students have access in their senior year to university programs from Cairns, UQ and Melbourne. By enrolling in these programs, TAS students gain credit for units in their undergraduate degrees. More TAS students are involved in these opportunities than all the other students in the city put together.
