Dear Parents,
It is the time of year when we all start to think about and prepare for one of the school's great annual events - the Coconut Carnival.
This year's Coconut Carnival will be held at the White Rock Campus on Saturday 25th October from 3.00 - 9.00pm. We have an earlier start this year to add an extra hour of music, entertainment, competitions, rides, food, drink and great fun. And of course, there will be the fireworks - we hope the younger ones can stay up a little later than usual so as to share in the excitement.
It will soon be the talk of the whole school as students and teachers prepare stalls and entertainment programmes.
The decision has been taken to stage this and future carnivals at White Rock Campus for several practical reasons which affect both the level of enjoyment and profitability of the event. Some of these are as uninteresting (yet vital) as parking space and others are as dynamic and attractive (as vital as parking) as the permission to stage fireworks. There are other logistics such as the proximity of several departments in the school which contribute enormously to the success of the Carnival, such as Music, Business and Maintenance.
We know the Marlin Coast Auctioneers' Ball is on the night before the Coconut Carnival, so we look forward to seeing all parents bright-eyed and bushy-tailed by 3.00 the next afternoon. Your children probably won't allow you any other choice!
Thank you for your ongoing support of all activities and events within the school calendar. This is definitely the P and F Association's biggest event and raises the most funds to contribute back to the quality education your children receive, so we are extremely grateful for your participation, and that of students, teachers and staff.
This is TAS' 25th Birthday, so it will be an extra special party!
See you there!
Amanda Byrne,
President,
